Proč si myslíme, že je Galaxy Skylab jedno z nejlepších 29″ MTB pro české bikery?
Co si představíte pod pojmem ideální kolo? Takové, které vám dobře sedne, bude kvalitně vybavené za slušné peníze a bude nabízet prostor pro možné vylepšení, jenž nelimitují například zastaralá řešení rámu? Podobně a ještě více široce přemýšlí domácí výrobce Galaxy, když chystá nastávající řadu svého nejzásadnějšího modelu. Galaxy Skylab je naše oblíbená stálice, model horského kola, který se vyvíjí přesně dle přání a požadavků domácích bikerů. Není tedy divu, že tento hardtail za poslední roky hostil více průměrů kol, ale i geometrie, jejíž aktuálně finální verzi naleznete v modelových označení 7.0 a 9.0, tedy v hierarchii Galaxy těch nejlépe vybavených. Pod tímto pojmem není problém představit si položky kolem 100 000 Kč, ale drahé kolo umí poskládat každý. Galaxy se snaží přinášet hlavně kola pro všechny a to hned s několika benefity, které jsou obvyklé u dražší konkurence.
Tapered hlavová trubka a další vychytávky rámu
Kola s cenovkou kolem 20 000 Kč dodnes často trpí velkým neduhem – není jim výrobcem věnováno tolik pozornosti a tak si nesou často dosluhující standardy – běžně rovnou hlavovou trubku, která jezdce může velmi limitovat při snaze pořídit lepší vidlice. Ruku na srdce – vidlice bývá velká položka, která umí cenu vystřelit o pěkných pár tisíc. Takže, co se lepším modelem vybavit, až nebude montovaná pružinová stačit? A každá nová, lepší vzduchová vidlice má dnes pouze kónický sloupek. Proto má Skylab 7.0 a 9.0 kónickou hlavu – a to navíc přináší i vyšší pevnost v této rámové oblasti. Verze 7.0 a 9.0 také umí vést část kabeláže vnitřkem rámu, přidat tak na estetice, či chytře skrývat třmen zadní brzdy mezi vzpěrami zadní stavby, aby se minimalizovala možnost poškození. Samozřejmostí jsou úchyty pro dva košíky na láhev – u všech variant Skylab 2019.
Trojpřevodníkům odzvonilo – aneb jsme u osazení
Kromě základních modelů, kde řady řazení nenabízí 2 či 1 převodník „trojplacku“ Galaxy zásadně neosazuje. Poměr 2×10 či 2×9 je tedy standardem, který umožňuje více komfortu a méně šancí řetězu spadnout. Není tak problém najít na rámech osazenou řadu Shimano Deore.
Galaxy se také snaží nešetřit na ráfcích – znáček WTB je toho důkazem. Širší ráfek vždy lépe spolupracuje s pláštěm, stará se o lepší jízdní komfort a plášť nemá tendence „žvýkat se“, když přijde na zatáčky a terén. Obutí je kompletně v režii Kenda, na Skylabech naleznete také komponenty Nexelo a značkové řetězy KMC. Osazení těmito výrobci se osvědčilo již po několik let.
Jízda
Galaxy Skylab se snaží neustále ladit svoji vyváženou geometrii, jejíž výhody lze pocítit v domácí kopcovité krajině, kdy je v terénu kolo hbité díky příkladnému úhlu hlavové trubky, ve výjezdech se nevzpíná na zadní a po rovině upaluje díky celkově tuhému rámu, jenž před žádným záběrem do pedálů neuhne. Každý si tak v sedle najde to svoje. Skylab je univerzál k pohledání.
Samozřejmě lze postavit rychlejší i hravější kolo. Bike jistější ve sjezdu i průbojnější v terénu. To všechno však na úkor dalších schopností, které si naše domácí stezky často umí vyžádat, ať jste sportovní cyklisté, nebo se jen tak rádi touláte po krajině. A v tom nám přijde, že je hlavní síla Skylabu, jedno kolo pro všechno – prostě parťák do nepohody, se kterým je spokojen sportovní cyklista i cykloturista.
