Richard Šmída, mechanik České reprezentace v silniční cyklistice, dostal ocenění za záchranu života
Richard Šmída byl před Vánoci oceněn od hejtmana Olomouckého kraje Josefa Suchánka a také od primátora Města Prostějova Františka Jury. Hejtman Olomouckého kraje Josef Suchánek Šmídovi předal děkovné uznání za statečnost při záchraně lidského života. Díky němu přežil těžkou nehodu rakouský účastník cyklistického závodu v Kyjově.
Závod se konal v květnu letošního roku, cyklista narazil zezadu do stojícího auta na závodní trati a utrpěl mnohá vážná zranění, z nichž nejvážnější bylo proříznutí hrdla o sklo vozu.
Nebýt duchapřítomnosti Richarda Šmídy, jeho bleskové a správné reakce, závodník by nehodu zřejmě nepřežil.
Samotný Richard Šmída vzpomíná na celou situaci takto: „Nemohl jsem nereagovat. První pomoc se dávat zkrátka musí, o tom se nepřemýšlí.“
Richard Šmída žije a pracuje v Prostějově, je spolumajitelem prodejny jízdních kol a lyží, cyklo servisu i skiservisu RicardoSport. Cyklisté ho také znají jako mechanika české cyklistické reprezentace a prostějovského cyklistického týmu Tufo Pardus Prostějov. Je velký podporovatel a má největší radost, když sportují děti a mládež. Zúčastnil se olympijských her v Tokiu a dalších světových podjetí.
„Teoreticky každý z nás ví, že je ve chvíli neštěstí potřeba rychlé pomoci. Ale ne každý prokáže pohotovost, chladnou hlavu a statečnost, když se něco opravdu stane. Tady to dopadlo dobře a rád jsem panu Šmídovi vyjádřil ocenění a velký dík,“ řekl hejtman Josef Suchánek.
O pár dnů dříve obdržel Richard Šmída medaili za záchranu lidského života také od Františka Jury, primátora Statutárního města Prostějova.
