Ohlédnutí za 10. ročníkem Okolo jižních Čech
Letošní ročník závodu kategorie UCI.2.2, který se jel 7. až 10. září 2023 postrádal jízdu proti chronometru, což ale nijak nevadilo. O časové rozdíly mezi závodníky se postaralo mimořádně aktivní pojetí závodu v každé etapě a zejména III. etapa s trojnásobným výšlapem na šumavský Javorník. Deset absolvovaných ročníků dává příležitost organizátorům k bilancování a možná i hlubšímu zamyšlení nad dalším vývojem a směřováním závodu. Jihočeské silnice zcela jistě poskytují příležitost k výběru atraktivních tras – jak z pohledu závodníků, tak i diváků. Podpora zúčastněných měst a obcí je obdivuhodná a organizátoři si této podpory nesmírně váží. To ale neznamená, že organizace takového závodu je něco snadného. V případě OJČ závod stojí a padá s osobou jeho ředitele Jana Hájka. Sekundárně potom s desítkami dobrovolníků, kteří za cenu čerpání vlastní dovolené, bagetu a tričko, obětují závodu vše co umí – a umí opravdu hodně ! Odměnou jim je, že se většina renomovaných týmů na start závodu vrací, třebaže je mezinárodní kalendář čím dál plnější. Nemáme v Čechách mnoho příležitostí vidět na stupních vítězů stát vedle sebe borce z Lotto Dstny, Groupama-FDJ, Uno-X …. , třebaže se jedná „jen“ o development teamy. Závod skutečně dlouhodobě plní funkci „kvalifikačního“ závodu pro mladé talenty, převážně z řad Kontinentálních týmů, což ale rozhodně není důvod ke skromnosti či ostychu. Vždyť na tomto závodě vybrušovali své zkušenosti pozdější hvězdy Wourld-tourovského nebe typu Floriana Senechala, Emanuela Buchmanna, Jana Polance, Ricardo Zoidla a také Josefa Černého. Předloňský vítěz závodu OJČ Arnaud De Lie dnes s přehledem poráží nejlepší světové klasikáře. Seznam českých účastníků z řad reprezentantů na silnici, dráze i cyklokrosu by potom vydal na samostatnou stránku. Z tohoto pohledu má závod Okolo jižních Čech významnou roli v možnosti poměření sil a schopností mladých talentů, a to rozhodně není málo. Srovnání se sobě rovnými je výzva, na kterou musí slyšet každý, kdo chce dosáhnou úspěchu – stejně závodníci, jako i organizátoři. Nezbývá než doufat, že naši závodníci budou mít k takovému srovnání vytvořen dostatek příležitostí a organizátoři dostatek vůle a sil, tyto příležitosti vytvářet. Závodníci, organizátoři i sportovní veřejnost si to určitě zaslouží.
