Olomoucká rodačka Sára Kaňkovská (Dukla Brno Sprint) dnes získala na Mistrovství Evropy | UEC – Union Européenne de Cyclisme, stříbrnou medaili. Sára je exmistryně světa a Evropy v juniorské kategorii.
Největší úspěchy Sáry jsou: MSJ 1x 1. místo (keirin) 2016, MEJ 1x 1. místo (keirin) 2016, 1x 3. místo (sprint) 2016, 1x 3. místo (keirin) 2015
Její jméno je spojené se slavnou cyklistickou rodinou Kaňkovských.
Táta Martin Kaňkovský několikanásobný mistr Československé republiky v cyklistice, vítěz Českého poháru, účastník Světového poháru, účastník Olympijských her v roce 1988. Její strýc Alois Kaňkovský v roce 2007 vyhrál Mistrovství světa v omniu, další strýc Jiří má vlastní cyklistickou stáj Mapei Merida Kaňkovský Olomouc a další strýc Josef Kaňkovský několikanásobný mistr České republiky v cyklistice, držitel několika medailí z Mistrovství Evropy a z Mistrovství světa, držitel několika českých rekordů.

Pro českou cyklistiku je to již 8. medaile z vrcholných akcí jako je MS a ME. (ME silnice – 3 medaile – zlato, stříbro, bronz | MS MTB – 2 medaile – 2 x bronz | dráha ME – 5 medailí – 1 zlato, 4x stříbrná medaile) z toho Josef Černý zvítězil v etapě Giro d´Italia, Zdeněk Štybar byl v etapě na 3. místě v etapě Vuelta a España a má jednu zlatou z MS a stříbrnou z ME má v dětské kategorii i BMX. ME je nyní v plném proudu.
