Ano, jsem člověk, který rád vyhrává. I kvůli tomu trénuju. Na závodech na sebe sám kladu velké nároky a chci co nejlepší výsledky. Vím už z loňského roku, že mi tohle sedí. Loni jsem strávil podobně dlouhou dobu v teple a v sezóně to bylo znát. Myslím, že díky tomu jsem měl takové výsledky. V našich podmínkách jde trénovat, aby se člověk udržoval, ale ne zlepšoval. Počasí ve Španělsku je úžasné a každý trénink, i když je těžký, je spíš za odměnu.
Co očekáváš od nové sezóny? Jaké si dáváš cíle?
Minimálně bych chtěl zopakovat výsledky z loňska, ale budu se snažit je ještě vylepšit. Důležitý bude český pohár, je to naše nejvyšší soutěž. Chtěl bych zajet výsledek na některém ze závodu v kalendáři UCI a uspět na mistrovství republiky, kde se sejde kompletní domácí špička. Velmi rád závodím v Rakousku, kde bývá vždy skvělá konkurence a chtěl bych se tam umístit na stupních.
Vloni ses v dresu české reprezentace dostal až na mistrovství Evropy. Věříš, že se podaří na nějakou vrcholnou reprezentační akci propracovat i letos?
Věřím, že pokud budu mít výsledky, bude šance se nominovat. Loňské mistrovství Evropy byla velká zkušenost. Byla to moje první velká akce v elitní kategorii a zároveň velmi cenná lekce do budoucna.
