Dne čtvrtek 30. listopadu se ve Veselí nad Lužnicí uskutečnila tisková konference k MČR mládeže, závěru TTC v cyklokrosu.
V 11 hodin se všichni účastnící sešli v Kulturním domě, kde celá tisková konference probíhala. Konferenci provázel Pavel Petr, začal úvodním slovem představení účastníků (Radek Bechyňský, Josef Bechyňský, Josef Krch – agentura cyklistika, starosta Vít Rada, Pavel Baloun – Banes Soběslav). Organizátoři cyklokrosových závodů, které se uskuteční 9. a 10. prosince, přiblížili a blíže popsali, jak probíhají přípravy na závody a jak celá akce bude probíhat. Pořadatelé srdečně zvou diváky na víkend plný cyklokrosu. Bude probíhat jeden závod za druhým. Závodníci se budou vypořádávat s dlouhým okruhem 2800 metrů a náročnou tratí plnou překážek a drsných pasáží. Rozhodně to nebude pro závodníky lehké a pro diváky to bude hezká podívaná.

Trať jsme museli pozměnit. Některé pasáže jsme museli upravit, aby lépe vyhovovali kamerám ČT, jelikož proběhne přímý přenos. Upravili jsme některé zatáčky a přidali nové překážky.
Jaké jsou výhledy do budoucnosti? Plánujete nějaký větší závod?
Chtěli bychom, aby se ve Veselí pořádalo velké MČR v cyklokrosu. Máme zažádáno na rok 2026. Uvidíme, zda to vyjde.
Sluší se nyní z vašich úst poděkovat někomu, bez koho bychom tu zde nebyli a cyklokros nemohli hostit v našem městě?

Myslím si, že je to významný závod. Cyklokrosová sezóna se stáhla z celé ČR do Jihočeského kraje, nejdříve TOI TOI Cup v Chýnově a teď nás čeká TOI TOI Cup a MČR mládeže právě zde ve Veselí. Ve Veselí končí celý závod TOI TOI Cupu.
V lednu se uskuteční velké MČR v Táboře a závěr první týden v únoru MS.

Jsem rád, že se akce koná právě u nás ve městě. O sport je zde velký zájem, mnoho dětí ve Veselí sportuje, momentálně máme zaregistrovaných přes 750 dětí. Je to pro město akce velkých rozměrů. Klobouk doků, že se podařilo zařídit i přímý přenos ČT SPORT.
