Štěpán Telecký z Favoritu Brno se stal ve čtvrtek ve slovenských Bánovcích nad Bebravou juniorským mistrem republiky v časovce, když trasu dlouhou 20 km prolétl v čase 25:48 min.!
„Je to obrovský úspěch nejen pro Štěpána, ale i pro celý Favorit,“ říkal šťastný šéftrenér Favoritu František Trkal. „Věděl jsem, že je na tom dobře. Poslední tři týdny jsme se snažili vyladit přípravu, aby forma gradovala na mistrovství republiky. Věřil jsem, že získá medaili, ale tajně jsem doufal, že to bude ta nejcennější.“ František Trkal je sám bývalým excelentním časovkářem s několika tituly mistra republiky, takže jeho hodnocení výkonu Štěpána má skutečně velkou váhu. „Jel vyrovnaně a jsem rád, že to vyšlo na zlato. Ale určitě jsem tam viděl momenty, kde by se dalo jet ještě rychleji. Věřím, že jako mistr republiky pojede na mistrovství světa nebo Evropy a určitě jsme se schopni se připravit ještě lépe,“ uvedl šéftrenér Favoritu. „Mám radost, že mistrovskou časovku vyhrál. I pro něj to bude psychická vzpruha do dalších závodů. Letos zatím vyhrávali spíš jeho kolegové a Štěpán se často obětoval pro tým. Teď si to vynahradil,“ řekl František Trkal. Michal Rotter, který startoval po nucené pauze kvůli nemoci, obsadil 11. místo. „Je velká škoda toho jeho onemocnění. Prvních 12 kilometrů časovky jel velmi dobře a držel krok s nejlepšími. Ale pak se na něm projevila ta pauza a došly mu síly. Jinak mohl pomýšlet o hodně výš,“ dodal šéftrenér. Rád bych poděkoval kolegům trenérům, stejně tak celému realizačnímu týmu, uvedl František Trkal.
