Sonora pro rok 2019 zredukovala počet komponentových klonů, takže již to není šest kousků v kategorii, ale jen tři. Zjistilo se, že není třeba tolika variant osazení, u tohoto typu biku lidé spíše preferují již vyšší sady. Upustilo se od prvních dvou levnějších verzí a v té nejvyšší nebude již v nabídce typ s elektronikou DI2, nyní zůstane top produktem Sonora na Sramu. Co je podstatné a týká se to i jiných nových modelů Stevens, snížila se cena a to dost výrazně, u tohoto prémiového stroje je to nyní 77 990 místo dosavadních 86 390 Kč. Na to, kolik nabízí tento závodní stroj superlativ, nebyla ani ta původní cena vůbec špatná.
Rám budí respekt už na první pohled, jeho poslední generace nabídne high-tech produkt navržený pro co nejvyšší výkon a ten se nedá přenést beze ztrát energie. Tuhost je u Sonory příznačná, avšak není jedinou prioritou. Právě pro výborné vyvážené jízdní vlastnosti jsou tyto biky vyhledávány závodníky i náročnými hobíky. Poměr mezi tuhostí a komfortem se zde podařilo dostat do ideální rovnováhy. Rám je zajímavý i tvarově. Robustní spodní rámová trubka se výrazně rozšiřuje směrem ke středovému pouzdru typu press fit, které obtéká a plynule navazuje na řetězové vzpěry zadní stavby, ty jsou asymetrické. Dolů se rozšiřuje i sedlová trubka. Z hlediska torzní tuhosti se tak velmi důležitá oblast středu jeví jako dostatečně dimenzovaná k vysokému výkonu. Rám ale není určen pro roboty a bez určitého jízdního komfortu nemůžeme dosáhnout konstatního vysokého výkon. Zjednodušeně bychom mohli rám rozdělit na tuhý podvozek, což je spodní část a „obytný prostor“, který zaujímá horní polovinu. Zde se již na pohodlí myslelo. Horní trubka má placatější profil a zcela plynule navazuje na sedlové vzpěry, které jsou zcela ploché, na pohled jde spíše o tenké planžety. Rám je tak schopen zadní stavbou pohltit vibrace velmi účinně a při tom si zachovat závodní charakter. Svůj podíl na pohlcování vibrací má i užší sedlovka průměru 27,2, je použita duralová slitina, karbon není třeba.
Kolo je osazeno komponentovou sadou Sram X0 Eagle. Dvanáctirychlostní kazeta má rozsah 10-50. Karbonové kliky Sram Eagle mají převodník s 34 zuby. Pokud budete chtít časem upgrade na dvoupřevodník, je na to rám připraven. Na Sonoře najdeme i konkurenční Shimano v podobě hydraulických kotoučovek XT. Z hlediska užitné hodnoty jsou jistě dobrou volbou. Kolo má celkovou hmotnost 10,2 kg, k tomu přispěla i extra lehká odpružená vidlice Fox 32 Float Step Cast s 1350 gramy. Zapltená kola DT Swiss mají hmotnost v páru těsně pod 1900 g. Sonora X0 je k mání v devětadvacítce, krom velikosti 16, kde se vyrábí jen sedmadvacítka.
