Tomáš Slavík vítězí v Číně
Tomáš Slavík se zúčastnil historicky prvního mezinárodního Urban DH závodu v Číně, který nesl název WAR HORSE URBAN DH 2018. Obchodní centrum 9 Squares a jeho okolí v Shenzhenu skrývalo parádně nachystanou trať plnou zajímavých překážek a krom tratě i skvělý přímý přenos do celého světa – Čína se předvedla v super světle. V tréninkách se Slavík cítil skvěle, ale v první měřené jízdě měl tvrdý pád, kdy si zranil levé lýtko a vůbec nebylo jisté jestli se postaví na startovní rampu. Nakonec se rozhodl, že to zkusí a po bezchybné jízdě z toho bylo první místo!
“Úplně jsem si nebyl jistej co v Číně očekávat. Neměli jsme moc informací o eventu, o trati a byla to taková jedna velká neznámá. Těsně před závodem jsem se spojil s klukama z Francie, co designovali trať a rozhodl jsem se pro nízký zdvihy, takže beru GHOST RIOT, který používám především na 4X a Dual Slalom. Byl to trochu risk, ale kolo fungovalo parádně a bylo to přesně to pravý na tuto trať. V tréninkách jsem si najel rychlý stopy a těšil se na závod, ale to jsem ještě nevěděl, co mě čeká. V první meřené jízdě jsem na startu roztrhl řetěz a šel nepříjemně k zemi a přistál levou holení/lýtkem přímo na zábradlí. V první chvíli jsem myslel, že je konec, ale nakonec jsme nohu rozhýbali. Přinesli jsme hromadu ledu a bylo na čase to trochu zmáčknout. Chvílemi to bylo sice už trochu přes hranu bolestivosti, ale povedla se mi fakt hezká jízda bez zásadních chyb a když jsem projel cílem, tak z toho bylo první místo! Radost byla veliká z tohoto “speciálního” vítězství, kdy jsem myslel, že se zvládnu tak maximálně odpajdat zpět do letadla domů a ne, že budu stát na nejvyšším stupni! Fakt z toho mám radost a ještě větší radost mám z kamarádů a ostatních závodníků, kteří mi pomohli se postavit zpět na nohy a opravit moje kolo. Tohle jsou přesně chvíle, kdy si člověk uvědomí jak skvělá je naše MTB komunita, kde jsme všichni kamarádi a stojíme pevně za sebou! Díky kluci! Velké díky jdou také organizátorům, kteří dokázali uspořádat skvělej event a způsob jakým se o nás všechny starali byl taky na jedničku – díky moc a těším se na další závody!”

Slavík se měl tento týden účastnit dalšího závodu v Kolumbii, ale kvůli zranění nohy vynechává a jeho dalším závodem bude Down Taxco v Mexiku, kde se předvede už v plné síle.
