Patří k nejtalentovanějším závodníkům Favoritu Brno. Kadet Štěpán Telecký má za sebou na kole Stevens velmi dobrou sezónu. V nabité mezinárodní konkurenci dokázal skončit druhý na Závodě míru nejmladších v Jevíčku, stejnou příčku obsadil v celkovém hodnocení Českého poháru. Na mistrovství republiky se stal vicemistrem v časovce a v silničním závodě vybojoval bronz, s týmem kadetů Favoritu pak získal titul v časovce družstev.
Letošní sezóna byla kvůli covidu hodně zvláštní. Jak ses s tím dokázal popasovat, když byl program nahuštěn do pár měsíců?
Myslím si, že jsme to s celým týmem zvládli velice slušně. Mně osobně to nedělalo nějaký zásadní problém a dokázal jsem zajet několik dobrých výsledků.
Jakého si nejvíc ceníš a proč?
Nejvíce si vážím druhého místa ze Závodu míru nejmladších, protože to je prestižní mezinárodní závod s velkou konkurencí. Je to pro mě známka toho, že bych mohl být schopný předvádět slušné výkony i na zahraničních závodech.
Úspěšně kombinuješ silnici a dráhu. Kde vidíš svou budoucnost?
Do budoucna bych chtěl upřednostnit spíše silnici. Pro příští sezonu je mým velkým cílem zúčastnit se Závodu míru juniorů v Terezíně v dresu české reprezentace.
Příští rok přestupuješ do kategorie juniorů? Co od toho očekáváš?
Spíše počítám s tím, že budu pomáhat týmu, který bude příští rok dost silný. Kdybych měl mluvit o osobních ambicích, chtěl bych být součástí reprezentace. Uvidíme, jak se s tím přestupem do vyšší kategorie popasuji. Netroufám si odhadnout, na co budu v té konkurenci mít. Prosadit se nebude vůbec lehké.
Víš o nějakých svých rezervách? Na čem bys potřeboval zapracovat?
Jedna z mých největších slabin je sprint. To je určitě potřeba zlepšit. Chtěl bych ale také zapracovat na svých vrchařských schopnostech.
Jak jsi spokojen ve Favoritu Brno?
Maximálně. Cítím se tu velmi dobře a věřím, že je ta spokojenost oboustranná.
Jaké máš cyklistické sny?
Chtěl bych jezdit za nějaký velký profesionální tým a startovat na jedné z Grand Tour. To se ale bohužel podaří málokomu. Musím jít za tímhle velkým snem postupnými kroky a dál tvrdě pracovat.
Máš nějaký cyklistický vzor?
Prvním je Michal Kwiatkowski kvůli tomu, co všechno je schopný udělat pro tým, a pak se mi líbí Thomas De Gendt díky svému stylu závodění.
