Silniční sezona startuje tradiční Bíteší v neděli 27. března

- ročník nejtradičnější české jarní klasiky se vrací k formátu z roku 2019. Start i cíl populárního závodu tak bude ve Velké Bíteši. 162 kilometrů dlouhá „Bíteš“ odstartuje v neděli 27. března a je zároveň 1. závodem České poháru v silniční cyklistice Škoda Cup 2022. Pandemie nemoci covid-19 výrazně zasáhla do posledních dvou plánovaných ročníků tohoto závodu. V roce 2020 musela být akce na poslední chvíli zrušena a loni odložena na 17. dubna, kdy se pořadatelé z TJ Favorit Brno rozhodli změnit směr závodu z důvodu splnění podmínek pořádání akcí v nouzovém stavu. Akce se v té době mohli konat pouze bez diváků, proto se začínalo na brněnském velodromu, kde byl také dojezd. Letos se závod vrací k trase z roku 2019. Závod, který se jede pod záštitou starosty města pana Ing. Milana Vlčka, odstartuje na Masarykově náměstí ve Velké Bíteši ve 12 hodin a peloton najede na první okruh dlouhý 70 kilometrů vedoucí přes Domašov, Ostrovačice, Popůvky a Veselku do brněnských Kohoutovic, kde bude první vrchařská prémie. Přes brněnské Bosonohy, Říčany, Rosice a Zastávku (zde bude druhá a třetí vrchařská prémie) se vrací do Velké Bíteše (na cílové pásce jsou připraveny rychlostní prémie) a závodníci se opět vydají na zkrácený okruh přes Zastávku (38 km) a o vítězi by se mělo rozhodnout na 18 kilometrů dlouhém okruhu mezi Velkou Bíteší a Osovou Bítýškou. Tento okruh se pojede třikrát a o vítězi by měl rozhodovat vítr, poziční jízda a týmová taktika. V roce 2019 na stejné trati zvítězil Jakub Otruba z týmu Elkov Kasper. Z šestičlenné čelní skupiny zaútočil 6 kilometrů před cílem a do cíle dorazil sám před Poláky Maciejem Paterskim a Pawlem Franczakem. Loňské vítězství na odlišné trati obhajuje Michael Kukrle. Mistr České republiky před rokem závodil v barvách Elkov Kasper, letos bude reprezentovat český národní tým a opět se řadí mezi největší favority.
