Tým mužů Favoritu Brno opět na kolech Stevens doplněný o tři juniory vyrazí zanedlouho na úvodní tréninkový kemp v novém roce do španělské Estepony, kde před sezónou najíždí kilometry už několik let. „Věřím, že budeme moci normálně odletět a trénovat tam bez omezení v ideálních klimatických podmínkách. Samozřejmě, že je kvůli Covidu vše komplikovanější. Každý, kdo teď cestuje do Španělska, musí mít test před odletem a po návratu, ale trénovat se tam zatím dá normálně. Tak doufám, že to vydrží a přípravu v teple nic nenaruší,“ řekl šéftrenér Favoritu František Trkal. „Do Španělska odletíme ve dvou skupinách. Už 14. ledna tam zamíří Vojta Kmínek a Michal Procházka, 24. ledna se k nim připojí Petr Hampl, Adam Křenek, Josef Čekal, David Kopelent, Michal Rotter, David Kulhánek a junioři Štěpán Široký, Štěpán Telecký a Marek Jelínek, které už chceme více zapojovat do týmu mužů. Široký a Jelínek jsou druhoročáci, Telecký je sice v juniorech prvním rokem, ale výkonnostně je jinde než ostatní. Má neskutečný motor,“ přiblížil šéftrenér s tím, že ve Španělsku bude tým trénovat do 14. února. Jeho svěřenci absolvovali začátkem týdne zátěžové testy. „Je vidět, že i ta loňská sezóna něco přinesla a kluci se zlepšili. S výsledky testů jsem spokojený,“ uvedl František Trkal. Během svátků měli závodníci Favoritu volnější program. „Trošku si odpočinuli, aby nabrali síly do další části sezóny. I když je situace složitá a nikdo v tuto chvíli neví, jak se sezóna bude vyvíjet, musíme být neustále ve střehu a připraveni,“ dodal šéftrenér.
