Emile, připsal sis na konto další vítězství, co pro tebe znamená?
Vítězství pro mě znamená hodně. Věřím, že jsem na dobré cestě se dále zlepšovat a tohle vítězství mi dává větší klid a pohodu do dalšího tréninku. Navíc jsem si připsal pár bodů do cyklokrosového rankingu, takže jsem spokojen.
Ano. Momentálně jsi na 62. místě v UCI cyklokrosařů. Jak je pro tebe důležitý tento ranking?
Je a není. Jsem rád, že jsem tak vysoko. Kdo může říci, že se pohybuje ve světovém žebříčku kolem šedesátky? Těší to, ale zároveň to nic neznamená. Pořád musím dál chodit do práce a živit se prací. Cyklistika je můj koníček.

Ano. Cyklistice rozumím. Mám zkušenosti a něco jsem se už najezdil. Málokdo asi ví, že jsem byl hotový zavoďák už v mládí. Bohužel podmínky v ČR nejsou pro cyklistiku vytvořené. Dokonce hodně kluků muselo ukončit závodní činnost a jít radeji do práce, protože kombinace práce a cyklistiky nejde dobře dohromady. Já už skončil kdysi dvakrát a vždy se vrátil, protože mě vždy kamarádi přemluvili a mě to nedalo. Pořád mě kolo baví, i když někdy jsou chvíle, kdy si říkáte, jestli to má cenu.
Vraťme se k závodu v Rakové. Opět si vyhrál a opět ve spurtu a opět byl druhý slovenský jezdec Matěj Ulík jako v Levoči. Co bys nám řekl k závodu?
Byl to pro mě těžký závod. Měl jsem za sebou sobotní závod ve Francii, kde se na mém výkonu projevilo dlouhé cestování. Jelo se mi dobře, ale ne optimálně, tak jako před týdnem v Levoči. Ulík byl lepší. Já jel chytře. Vytěžil jsem ze závodu maximum. Vyhrál jsem ve spurtu, které nerad prohrávám, když o něco jde. Samozřejmě vítězství potěší. Vždyť Matěj Ulík šel letos hodně výkonnostně nahoru. Navíc jel dobrý závod v sobotu v Hlinsku, kde byl na pátém místě.
Ty jsi v Hlinsku nestartoval. Co se změnilo, že si odjel na závod do Francie?
Změnilo se to, že jsem tam byl pozván. A pozvání se neodmítá. Jinak do Hlinska jsem oficiálně pozván nebyl, měl jsem jet dle komunikace s pořadatelem za standardních podmínek. Což je špatně pro celou českou cyklistiku. Spíš pro cyklisty/sportovce.
Jak to myslíš?
Nerad bych tohle téma rozebíral. Nezlobte se. Všichni, kdo se cyklistickou nějak živí, ví o čem mluvím.
Co nyní plánuješ?
Bohužel na mě sedla v pondělí nějaká viróza, a tak nevím, jak to bude o tomto víkendu. Takže se dám do kupy a uvidíme.
Co reprezentace, ME a MS?
S přítelkyní jsme tohle téma řešili po loňské sezóně a shodli jsme se, že již nemá cenu jezdit na světové akce, pokud nejsem profesionál. Prostě nemá to pro mně význam, ani žádný efekt. Priority mám již jinde. Cyklistika mě baví, a to je to hlavní.
