Veronika Jandová přestupuje do World Cycling Centre

Světové cyklistické centrum UCI představilo svůj ženský kontinentální tým UCI pro rok 2020 Vzhledem k tomu, že jsou oznámeny konečné přestupy a týmy prezentují své sestavy pro rok 2020, i tým UCI Women’s Continental Team (WCC Team) s potěšením odhalil své složení. Světové cyklistické středisko UCI (WCC) v Aigle ve Švýcarsku zaregistrovalo ženský tým u Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) poprvé v roce 2019. Byl tvořen v podstatě ze závodnic UCI WCC, které do střediska přicházejí z celého světa aby zde mohly těžit z profesionálního zabezpečení jeho týmu a získávat závodní zkušenosti v celé Evropě i mimo ni. Vytvoření týmu WCC znamenalo, že mladé cyklistky mohly závodit na vyšších akcích, měřit se s profesionálními týmy a závodnicemi a to vše na světové úrovni. Po úspěšné první sezóně, pět závodnic ze sestavy roku 2019 podepsalo s evropskými týmy, zatímco dvě se vrátily do týmu WCC, který tak tvoří devět neuvěřitelně talentovaných mladých žen z devíti zemí. Kromě dvou závodnic z loňského roku tým zahrnuje dvě juniorky, přicházející z programu UCI WCC Junior, jednu dráhařku z UCI WCC a další čtyři mladé jezdkyně, které se v říjnu ve švýcarském Aigle účastnily programu identifikace talentů světového cyklistického centra.
„Všechny je znám individuálně a jsem si jistý, že budou dobře spolupracovat a vytvoří opravdu dobrou skupinu,“ řekl trenér UCI WCC Adam Szabó. „Je to velmi mladý tým – naše dvě starší jezdkyně dovršil v příštím 24 let a ostatním je mezi 18 a 20 lety. Je to přesně ten druh týmu, který jsem hledal: směs jezdkyň z Evropy i mimo Evropu, mladý, a ne více než jedna závodnice z jedné národní federace.“ Adam Szabó uvedl, že tým se sejde poprvé na začátku února 2020 na dvoutýdenním tréninkovém kempu, po kterém bude následovat jejich první závod, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad-vrouwen v Belgii na konci téhož měsíce. Přestože jejich plný závodní kalendář musí být ještě potvrzen, bude to s největší pravděpodobností rozšířená verze té z roku 2019. 
Členky týmu: Veronika Jandová (Česká republika), 18 let – Veronika v roce 2019 trénovala v UCI WCC, kde se ukázala být jednou z nejlepších jezdkyň v juniorské skupině, která se připravovala na mistrovství světa UCI v Yorkshiru (GBR). Na svůj věk je zralá, s potenciálem vyvinout se v solidního elitní závodnici. Roni Fishman (Izrael), 20 let Eyeru Tesfoam Gebru (Ethiopia), 23 let Akvile Gedraityte (Lithuania), 18 let Amber Joseph (Barbados), 19 let Anastasiya Kolesava (Belarus), 19 let Tereza Medvedová (Slovakia), 23 let Catalina Anais Soto Campos (Chile), 18 let Magdeleine Vallières-Mill(Canada), 18 let “Jsem strašně ráda, že jsem podepsala svoji první profesionální smlouvu právě zde. V UCI centru mám výborné zázemí a od všech naprosto profesionální přístup a jedinou moji starostí je dobře trénovat a závodit. S trenérem týmu Adamem Szabó jsem moc spokojená. Opravdu se nám neskutečně věnuje a přistupuje k nám i individuálně. Mohu mluvit z vlastní zkušenosti, protože ve Švýcarsku v UCI centru jsem již strávila tři měsíce a pan trenér mě výborně připravil k MS v Anglii a nebýt dvou pádů, cítila jsem se v závodě výborně. 
Samozřejmě nesmím opomenout na předešlé výborné zázemí ve Favoritu Brno, kde mi dali výborné základy pro profesionální cyklistiku v čele s vedením a panem Trkakem a panem Petrem. Naopak díky šanci reprezentovat a panu trenérovi Konečnému by se mi nedařilo prosazovat na mezinárodním poli, i když doposud mé větší zkušenosti jsou v juniorské kategorii, ale díky svazu a podpory reprezentačního trénera, jsem mohla startovat s reprezentací na světových pohárech a na ME a MS, kde se mi v loňském roce podařilo prodat to, že jsem byla dobře připravená. Naopak bez podpory nejbližších, tím myslím rodinu, včetně lidí, kteří mě podporují, to jsou Frantík a Fořtová, kteří mi vytváří výborné zázemí, by to šlo také hůře, za což jim moc děkuji. Rozhodně se těším na sezónu 2020 a věřím, že se mi opět povede posunout o kus dál a nesmím opomenout ani své fanoušky.
